Lib Dems field strong candidate for Tavistock North by-election
On 2 May, voters in Tavistock North will have the chance to vote for an exceptional new representative on West Devon Borough Council. Liberal Democrat candidate Holly Greenberry-Pullen is an experienced campaigner bringing passion and commitment to the task of making the town a better place to live and work.
Mother of two Ms Greenberry-Pullen says:
‘As a local resident and owner of my own small business, I share the frustration and dissatisfaction felt by the local community at problems that have been constantly brushed aside by a complacent Tory council. Everyone I speak to locally complains of failing infrastructure. The town centre is struggling, independent shops and pubs are fighting for survival. Health care provision is in crisis, the roads are a disgrace and access to dentists has become a pipe dream. Sustainably affordable housing is almost non-existent. Our wonderful facility, Tavistock Local Hospital has recently had its X-Ray department closed, forcing yet more people into the chronically overstretched Derriford, while promises of a rail link to Plymouth remain just that. Promises.’
Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate Phil Hutty says:
‘Holly knows what it is like to struggle to access essential services and battle with the consequences of decades of Tory cuts and under investment. I know she will throw all her energy into campaigning for real change and restore integrity and competence to the heart of local government.’
Ms Greenberry-Pullen lives in Princetown with her two daughters. Her background is in environmental sciences, equality, healthcare, and education, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
